A Family’s story about DAINTREE TOLLER BREEDER

Over the last several days there has been so much happening on social media regarding this situation. The breeder has taken another unprofessional approach to the story and has been discredited this family, misleading people and not speaking the truth. I feel its very important to get their story out and therefore I would like to share their story with you.

Before you begin to read their story, I would like you to know that I do know this family. They are the most loving, understanding and honest people I know. There is no bad intentions here or any hateful retaliation on the families part. Just honesty. The moral of this story is not “the placement of the puppy” but the unprofessionalism of this breeder.  They have reached out to others with this story in hopes that this does not happen to any other family out there.

WARNING ABOUT DEALING WITH DAINTREE TOLLER BREEDER!
http://daintreeducktollers.com/
To those of you that were lucky enough to receive your puppies from the Daintree Canada Litter you must be proud new parents. Unfortunately for my family after 3 months of watching our puppy grow up online and awaiting his arrival today we received a text message today 1 hour before we were to meet our new addition Trisha at Daintree stating the exact words below.
“Matt I have to do what is right for this puppy and place him in a quiet home without children. I’m sorry for the inconvenience…”
Obviously my family was devastated by this text as we have been on pins an needles waiting for his arrival. I tried to call Trisha immediately and continued to try to call her for an hour and she is not answering her phone. I tried to log into facebook and look at the Canada Litter Page, which we have since been removed from?
To give you a short back ground our original puppy choices were Vaughn, Logan and Crosby and during our telephone interview Trisha informed us that those three were spoken for. Contrary to my original conversation with Trisha when I was informed that puppies are matched based on characteristics and not a first come first serve basis. During this conversation Trisha suggested that since we cannot have on of our first three choices she can pass on the name of her breeding mentor Pikkinoka. We stated that we have been dealing with her and watching this litter and would like to proceed with the dog that she feels best us. My wife and I trusted Trisha to match a dog and were comfortable with her decision after receiving notification from her last Saturday at 12:56 am I received a text message from Daintree and the thread is quoted word for word below:
(Daintree) “Birdiest/ most interested in toys and retrieving is Hudson!”
(Daintree) “He also sat quietly with one senior today at the nursing home for than an hour. Total Package”
(Me) “Wonderful, I’m sure he’ll be a perfect fit for our family”
(Daintree) “Oh good . Wanted your ok before making the rest of the placements. I thought he was good choice yesterday but am so glad I waited until today to be sure”
(Me) “Yes, not in our top 3 but I trust you made the right choice.”
(Me) “Can’t wait to meet him”
(Daintree) “He’s beautiful and would love to breed back to him someday! Looking like delivery. Waiting on Scott’s schedule for exact dates.”
This brings us to yesterday as we were happy and preparing to receive our new dog, I received a phone call from Trisha stating that she noticed that Hudson has been a little different the last couple of day’s and doesn’t think he should be placed in a house with kids. Trisha suggested that maybe we look for another dog at another breeder. My response was that I appreciate her concerns but we are expecting the dog and are fully prepared to deal with any personality that he may come with. The conversation ended with the decision that Trisha and Hudson would be here Sunday at noon.
That would bring us to today were we received the text 1 hour prior to their expected arrival stating that due to Hudson’s change in behaviour over that couple of day’s she could not put him in a home with kids. And then proceeded to delete us from the Daintree Canada Litter Members page, block our calls and not respond all too any voicemails. At the end of the day I guess if we had a call to discuss any of this it may have created an eased feel of emptiness but we didn’t we received a text an then complete avoidance. A conversation with her about future litters or seeing as Trisha was in Calgary met and great with us and our kids to see how the interacted or just any conversation at all. Instead she just took our money and strung along for three months.
If you have made it this far through my post thank you for reading and to clearly get the point of this is post across It’s intent is to create a warning and awareness for people about Daintree Duck Tolling Retriever Breeders business practice’s as they are un ethical and immoral. I know this breed is in high demand and short on supply so Daintree will continue to see business but please for your own sake think twice before doing so. Sorry if you see this post on all things we have access to that deal with Tollers but it is our point get let people know how Daintree operates.

Thank You,
Matt

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about this families experience. This post is in no form any act of retaliation on Daintree. This is to spread the honest truth about an experience in hopes this does not happen to any one else.

It’s been tough….

It’s been a while since my last post. Life has been very busy and I would like to share this story with you.

Last month, our baby girl was very sick with RSV (respiratory syncytial virus). The virus had to run its course, so this meant it was going to get worse before it got better. Two weeks of sleepless nights, nasal spraying, filling up the humidifier and  going through a jar of baby vics. It was a tough go. Now she is better but it took a good three weeks to get this virus out of her little body. On top of that, my husband had to go in for major knee surgery. The surgeons then took hamstring from his right leg to reconstruct his left knee. So both his legs were out of commission. We did everything we were told. He took his pain meds, elevated his leg, iced the knee, went to a physio appointment and then the pain started. He had some calf pain, well we thought it was from his first physio appointment and having to stand on his leg in the shower, his muscle was sore. Then he developed discomfort in his upper back, under the shoulder-blade area, we thought it was from sleeping with a brace, on your back with your leg up, yah that is not comfortable at all. The next day it got worse. He was not feeling well for the day, and then within 15 minutes, his pain went from a discomfort to an excruciating pain. My husband could not breathe! Oh my gosh, it’s 11:00pm, the baby is up, the kids are crying! My husband is hunched over, his colouring is changing…911! To make a long story short, he had developed four blood clots in his lung. The emerg docs told us, he is lucky to be alive. If we had left this any longer, he would have died. To hear these words,  to see the love of my life hooked up to monitors, oxygen levels dropping, unbearable pain…my heart breaks. So many emotions are running through my body. I feel a sense of sadness, I feel helpless, I feel so grateful!!! He is here! I had to pull out that inner strength from within. I could not let him or my children see the broken side. I had to keep positive and strong for them. And, I did. To be honest with you, I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family and our friends. I am so grateful for my best friend, who came in the middle of the night to be with my kids so I could go to the hospital. My sister took care of them the next day so I could be by my husband’s side and get a couple of hours of sleep in. My beautiful friend, came knocking at my door with food and flowers, so I didn’t have to cook during this difficult time. My cousin, was there to hear my cries, to give me words of wisdom, my husbands best friend was there at the hospital everyday…and the list goes on. I really did realize, in times like these, who is there for you, and who is not.

I know this is a very personal story, but at the end of the day, there are always lessons learned. I learned my own strengths, I have learned not to sweat the small stuff and the greatest reminder, life is short! It can be taken with the blink of an eye. Live life with no regrets. Love unconditionally. Be grateful for everyday and for those in your life.

” I am so Thankful for the amazing people God has placed in my life. I might not get along with everyone all the time but I do know there are lessons to learn every step of the way and I pray God opens my eyes and lets me see these moments as a time of growth and a time to become a stronger person. May God Bless you and keep you safe and healthy and happy today and always” LifeLoveQuotesAndSayings

City Lips

I was browsing around the internet on a celeb gossip site and came across City Lips. Which is a lip treatment gloss. Of course I did my investigating and was curious if this stuff really works.

Here is what I found out:

  • It was featured on Good Housekeeping and ABC News.
  • Guaranteed results or 100% money back within 30 days.
  • Uses exclusive safe ingredients not found in any other lip treatment.
  • Painlessly stimulate your own natural collagen production.
  • Hyaluronic acid provides moisture and reduces lines around the lips.
  • Visible results in 10 min, lasts 4-6 hours and if applied twice daily – long term results
  • Treatment not a plumper. City Lips rejuvenates while others use irritants for a temporary plump.
  • Safe to use, even when pregnant or nursing

Price is $35.00 USD per bottle but they do have promos, 3 for $89.99 USD with FREE SHIPPING.

My Review: I ordered the product and what can I say? I absolutely love City Lips. It is not stinging, very moisturizing and definite instant results. I have been using the product now for over 30 days and have visible results. I will not use another collogen enhancing product or any other lip gloss.

Christmas Crafts for Kids!

Our Christmas Tree is full of ornaments that my kids have made over the years.  Since our daughters  birthday is in December, we try to incorporate a Christmas Craft into her birthday party. This way her friends get to take home a masterpiece for their Christmas tree.

This year we did Snowman Handprint Christmas Ornaments. You can hit your local dollar store and pick up all the necessities for cheap! Here is what you’ll need:

  •  Any color large bulb
  • White acrylic craft paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Orange & Black permanent marker

Paint the hand with white paint. With hand open and palm up, place the bulb on the palm and have your child cup the bulb with their hand. Let dry and then decorate your snowman with the permanent markers! Don’t forget to date the ornament!

Mason Jar Mudpies are great for birthdays or gifts!

  • Package of ground oreo cookies
  • Instant chocolate & vanilla pudding
  • Whipped cream
  • Mason jars at local dollar store

Put ingredients in separate bowls and let the kids layer their mason jars. Top with a bow and refrigerate.

Happy Holidays

Good Luck Sock

Good Luck Sock

My husband is into funky socks! He works in the downtown core. In corporate world, it’s dress shirts and dress pants, why not add a little funky edge to the outfit! Looks great with jeans and sweaters too! He started with a couple and now he has expanded his collection. I have to say myself, plain is OUT and funky designs are IN!!!! I personally love the look.

I am always on the hunt for the best company and products out there. I found Good Luck Sock. This is a Canadian, Edmonton based company owned by Shifrin, 29, and Gerchikov, 28, who are childhood friends.  They have taken the PLAIN mens sock to the next level. With a variety of styles, colors and designs, there is a pair for everyone. They can be paired with a suit, dress pants, even causally with jeans. This is a great accessory!

Be sure to check out “The sock of the month club”. They will deliver a new pair of socks to your door every month. How fun is that?! Great gift ideas!

I loaded up this holiday season for my husband. Check it out here!

Family Vacay!

We are back in YYC! Cabo was amazing! The weather was perfect, the beaches were gorgeous, hotel was beautiful and most importantly the family had a great time.

We stayed at the Riu Palace located near the famous arches. The service and food were fantastic. We did do a couple a la carte dinners but mainly stuck with the buffet for the kids. The buffet, was super. It’s perfect for the kids. They thought it was the best thing, they could pick what they want and go up so many times. I indulged in the mexican.  From chili rellenos to the handmade assorted tamales!  I was in heaven!!!

Drinks, love the pina coladas, but there is a drink that I recommend called Batida de Coco. It’s a creamier version of the pina colada. So yummy and creamy!!!! They also do delish cappuccinos, which are more like our lattes. And of course a great variety of non-alchololic beverages for the kids! Cruz favorite was the Banana Colada and Gabrielle’s was the Copacabana!

The kids – Loved it! Gabrielle is a little fish, she would not get out of the water.  Cruz can swim on his own but we took him a puddle jumper, which is a floatation device like water wings. With that he was a non stop little guy out there who had to pee every time he hit the water. So I think we must have taken him to the washroom 20 times a day! Our baby Juliet, she was a gem. I think she was defiantly the heart of the Riu. Everyone knew her and everyone loved her!

Julian, my husband and I sat back looking at the kids and counted our blessings once again on how fortunate we are. We were all together as a family in a beautiful place. It is so important to take time for just your family. To build on your family memories and make memories and experiences that your children or us as parents will never forget. Times like these don’t have to be in a tropical destination, it could simply be a drive to Banff or a camping trip. No outside influences like your cell phone ringing, no social media, chores, etc. Your attention is fully devoted to quality time and making this memory!
