A Family’s story about DAINTREE TOLLER BREEDER

Over the last several days there has been so much happening on social media regarding this situation. The breeder has taken another unprofessional approach to the story and has been discredited this family, misleading people and not speaking the truth. I feel its very important to get their story out and therefore I would like to share their story with you.

Before you begin to read their story, I would like you to know that I do know this family. They are the most loving, understanding and honest people I know. There is no bad intentions here or any hateful retaliation on the families part. Just honesty. The moral of this story is not “the placement of the puppy” but the unprofessionalism of this breeder.  They have reached out to others with this story in hopes that this does not happen to any other family out there.

WARNING ABOUT DEALING WITH DAINTREE TOLLER BREEDER!
http://daintreeducktollers.com/
To those of you that were lucky enough to receive your puppies from the Daintree Canada Litter you must be proud new parents. Unfortunately for my family after 3 months of watching our puppy grow up online and awaiting his arrival today we received a text message today 1 hour before we were to meet our new addition Trisha at Daintree stating the exact words below.
“Matt I have to do what is right for this puppy and place him in a quiet home without children. I’m sorry for the inconvenience…”
Obviously my family was devastated by this text as we have been on pins an needles waiting for his arrival. I tried to call Trisha immediately and continued to try to call her for an hour and she is not answering her phone. I tried to log into facebook and look at the Canada Litter Page, which we have since been removed from?
To give you a short back ground our original puppy choices were Vaughn, Logan and Crosby and during our telephone interview Trisha informed us that those three were spoken for. Contrary to my original conversation with Trisha when I was informed that puppies are matched based on characteristics and not a first come first serve basis. During this conversation Trisha suggested that since we cannot have on of our first three choices she can pass on the name of her breeding mentor Pikkinoka. We stated that we have been dealing with her and watching this litter and would like to proceed with the dog that she feels best us. My wife and I trusted Trisha to match a dog and were comfortable with her decision after receiving notification from her last Saturday at 12:56 am I received a text message from Daintree and the thread is quoted word for word below:
(Daintree) “Birdiest/ most interested in toys and retrieving is Hudson!”
(Daintree) “He also sat quietly with one senior today at the nursing home for than an hour. Total Package”
(Me) “Wonderful, I’m sure he’ll be a perfect fit for our family”
(Daintree) “Oh good . Wanted your ok before making the rest of the placements. I thought he was good choice yesterday but am so glad I waited until today to be sure”
(Me) “Yes, not in our top 3 but I trust you made the right choice.”
(Me) “Can’t wait to meet him”
(Daintree) “He’s beautiful and would love to breed back to him someday! Looking like delivery. Waiting on Scott’s schedule for exact dates.”
This brings us to yesterday as we were happy and preparing to receive our new dog, I received a phone call from Trisha stating that she noticed that Hudson has been a little different the last couple of day’s and doesn’t think he should be placed in a house with kids. Trisha suggested that maybe we look for another dog at another breeder. My response was that I appreciate her concerns but we are expecting the dog and are fully prepared to deal with any personality that he may come with. The conversation ended with the decision that Trisha and Hudson would be here Sunday at noon.
That would bring us to today were we received the text 1 hour prior to their expected arrival stating that due to Hudson’s change in behaviour over that couple of day’s she could not put him in a home with kids. And then proceeded to delete us from the Daintree Canada Litter Members page, block our calls and not respond all too any voicemails. At the end of the day I guess if we had a call to discuss any of this it may have created an eased feel of emptiness but we didn’t we received a text an then complete avoidance. A conversation with her about future litters or seeing as Trisha was in Calgary met and great with us and our kids to see how the interacted or just any conversation at all. Instead she just took our money and strung along for three months.
If you have made it this far through my post thank you for reading and to clearly get the point of this is post across It’s intent is to create a warning and awareness for people about Daintree Duck Tolling Retriever Breeders business practice’s as they are un ethical and immoral. I know this breed is in high demand and short on supply so Daintree will continue to see business but please for your own sake think twice before doing so. Sorry if you see this post on all things we have access to that deal with Tollers but it is our point get let people know how Daintree operates.

Thank You,
Matt

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about this families experience. This post is in no form any act of retaliation on Daintree. This is to spread the honest truth about an experience in hopes this does not happen to any one else.
